The Big Latch On 2007 was held in New Zealand on the 5th of August, 2007. We had a total of 900 latches across 96 venues in Aotearoa.

Breastfeeding: The 1st Hour
In 2007 the World Breastfeeding Week theme was “Breastfeeding: The 1st Hour“. This theme worked to raise awareness of the importance of the first hour of breastfeeding:
Initiation of breastfeeding within the 1st hour of birth is the first and most vital step towards reducing infant and under-five mortality, by reducing the overwhelmingly high neonatal mortality rate.
