Foundation of Life
In 2018 the World Breastfeeding Week theme was “Foundation of Life“. This years theme centred on nutrition, food security and poverty reduction by promoting breastfeeding as a low-cost way to support infant health.
This years World Breastfeeding Week logo featured “two adults and an infant, which reinforces the importance of working together to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. Branches, leaves and sprouts represent growth and development. The line extending from the triad and sprouting into leaves are the links between breastfeeding and nutrition, food security and poverty reduction” (World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, 2018).
