Aych McArdle is a human rights activist based in Tāmaki Makaurau working in the intersections between health, education and social services. Some of the hats Aych wears in their rainbow community are: Human rights researcher at the Intersex Trust of Aotearoa New Zealand, Executive board member at OUTLine, Local Advisory Committee at CCS Disability Action and a Project collaborator at ReFrame. Aych is preparing to start a PhD investigating the barriers that teachers and whānau experience in making school a safe place for trans and gender diverse young people.
